Jewish Voice for Peace Activists Arrested for Protesting Netanyahu’s Visit to the United States

He is a war criminal and his government should not receive another cent from U.S. taxpayers, Senador Sanders said.
On Tuesday, the United States Capitol Police arrested around 200 activists who participated in a protest against the visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is scheduled to give a speech at the Capitol on Wednesday.

Previously, the organization “Jewish Voice for Peace” called on citizens to gather inside the Cannon House Office Building in the Capitol.
The activists wore red T-shirts with the message “Not in My Name” to condemn the genocide in Gaza and to denounce the complicity of President Joe Biden’s administration in supplying weapons and funds to Israel.
“Jews tell Congress: stop sending weapons to Israel” and “Nobody is free until everyone is free” were some of the phrases displayed on the banners of the Jewish Voice for Peace, an organization that brings together Jews who seek Palestinian liberation and the experience of Judaism without Zionism.
Netanyahu’s visit comes two months after the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Karim Khan, requested an arrest warrant against him for committing war crimes.
Some U.S. legislators announced they would not attend the parliamentary session to express their rejection of Netanyahu’s presence in the U.S. Congress.
Senator Bernie Sanders stated that Netanyahu is a war criminal and that his far-right government should not receive another cent from American taxpayers to continue the inhumane destruction of Gaza.
On Thursday, Netanyahu will meet with President Biden. The following day, he will hold talks with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. The Zionist leader also plans to meet with Vice President Kamala Harris. However, the date and time of their meeting have not yet been confirmed.
