She sidestepped delving deeper into the immigration issue, limiting herself to stating that it’s a long-standing problem.
On Monday, U.S. Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris advocated for Americans’ right to gun ownership.

Kamala Harris Crushes Trump in a Debate Focused on Contentious Issues
“I have a Glock, and I’ve had it for quite some time,” she told journalist Bill Whitaker during an interview on CBS News’ 60 Minutes program. When asked if she had ever fired the weapon, Harris flashed her characteristic smile and nodded: “Yes… At a shooting range. Yes, of course.”
This is not the first time the Democratic candidate has admitted to owning a firearm. During the presidential debate, Harris said that she and her running mate, Governor Tim Walz, were “gun owners.”
Former President Donald Trump has suggested that if Harris becomes president, she would attempt to limit the Second Amendment right to gun ownership, something the Democratic candidate has denied.
Harris Promises Low Unemployment Rates
Harris also spoke about her proposals for the U.S. economy, one of the most important issues for voters. “We now have an economy that is thriving according to all macroeconomic indicators,” she said, promising to maintain low unemployment rates.
She highlighted her plan to “address” high food prices, invest in small businesses, help the middle class, and restore the child tax credit for families with children under one year old.
Harris was questioned about how she would tackle the US$1.7 trillion deficit facing the country, to which she responded that she would raise taxes on high-income individuals and expects Congressional leaders to be willing to support her.
“There are many leaders in Congress who understand and know that Trump’s tax cuts blew up our federal deficit,” Harris warned, emphasizing that she is “a capitalist” who understands the limitations of government.
Harris Won’t Meet With Putin to Halt the Ukrainian War
The Democratic presidential candidate stated that it is necessary to put an end to the military offensive that Israel has launched in Palestine. However, she avoided answering several questions about whether Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is “ignoring” the United States.
She warned that she would not meet one-on-one with Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate a solution to end the Ukrainian conflict. “Ukraine must have a say in Ukraine’s future,” Harris affirmed.
The current U.S. vice president also sidestepped delving deeper into the issue of immigration, limiting herself to stating that “it’s a long-standing problem. And the solutions are within reach. And from day one, literally, we have been offering solutions.”
Currently, the Democratic candidate continues to lead in voter intentions. According to the polling average compiled by the website FiveThirtyEight, she leads Trump by 2.5 percentage points nationally, although in key states her margin is not as significant.
