She addressed the Arab community, an essential group for securing Michigan’s 15 Electoral College votes.
During a rally in East Lansing in Michigan on Sunday, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris stated that she would work to end Israel’s aggression in Gaza and Lebanon and provide the Palestinian people with the “dignity” they deserve.

The U.S. vice president directly addressed the Arab community, an essential group for securing the state’s 15 Electoral College votes. She acknowledged “that this year has been difficult due to the death and destruction in Gaza and the deaths and displacement of civilians in Lebanon.”
“As president, I will do everything in my power to end the war in Gaza, bring hostages home, end the suffering in Gaza, ensure Israel’s security, and make sure the Palestinian people can achieve their right to dignity, freedom, security, and self-determination,” Harris said.
The Arab vote in Michigan is crucial to tipping the scales in favor of the Democrats on Tuesday. In 2020, with President Joe Biden, they managed to surpass Republican Donald Trump by more than 20 points.
However, this year, polls show Trump leading in terms of Arab voter intentions, with some potentially turning away from Harris due to her role in the Biden administration, which continues to support Israel’s actions in Gaza, Lebanon, and Yemen with arms.
At the East Lansing rally, Harris did not mention Trump by name, but she highlighted her differences with his policies and personality while trying to convey a positive message.
On Sunday, meanwhile, Republican candidate escalated his attacks against Harris, calling her incapable of solving the country’s problems. “Go away. Go away. You’re fired… Kamala talks about fixing the economy, but why doesn’t she do it? She won’t do anything. She’s incapable of it. Her plan will impose the largest tax increase in U.S. history on families,” the former president remarked in the city of Macon.
