The former U.S. president held rallies in three small cities in key swing states to mobilize rural voters.
On Sunday, Republican candidate Donald Trump intensified his attacks against Vice President Kamala Harris during a rally in Georgia, a key state in determining who will be the next president of the United States.

“Leave. Leave. You’re fired… You are the worst vice president in the country’s history. Kamala talks about fixing the economy, but why doesn’t she do it? She’s not going to do anything. She’s incapable of doing it. Her plan will impose the biggest tax increase in U.S. history on families,” he said.
He then mocked the Democratic candidate for recently saying in a television interview that she wouldn’t do anything differently than President Joe Biden, which, Trump said, “disqualifies her in itself.”
“Our country is 90 percent on the wrong track, the highest in our country’s history, and she says, ‘Oh, I wouldn’t do anything differently’?” Trump questioned passionately in his closing remarks for the night, two days before the presidential election.
The Day of Liberation
On Sunday, the former U.S. president held rallies in three small cities in key swing states to mobilize rural voters, a significant part of his base. In Lititz, Pennsylvania, Trump said he shouldn’t have left the White House after losing the 2020 election. In Macon, he declared that November 5 “will be the Day of Liberation” for the United States.
He accused Harris of leading a Democratic campaign based solely on “hate” and “demonization,” saying they are “calling half of America trash,” referencing President Biden’s comment after a comedian called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage” at a Trump rally.
“Let me tell you something… the only garbage I see floating around are his followers,” Biden said, a statement that both the White House and Biden himself later tried to clarify.
During his rally in Georgia, the two main topics that Trump repeatedly focused on were illegal immigration, which he said has turned the United States into “an occupied country,” and the economy, which he described as suffering from “rampant” inflation.
“We’re going to handle inflation. We’re going to drill, drill. We’ll pay down the debt. We’ll lower your taxes even more. We’ll achieve the biggest tax cut in history,” said Trump, who pointed out that this week the U.S. experienced “the worst jobs report in modern history, with only 12,000 weak jobs created.”
Everything Is Open
On Sunday, Trump and Harris continued to wage an intense battle across a handful of decisive swing states, with polls showing a very tight race. This tight race has led both political rivals to focus heavily in recent days on the seven swing states: Pennsylvania, which has the most electoral votes (19); North Carolina (16), Georgia (16), Michigan (15), Arizona (11), Wisconsin (10), and Nevada (6).
The polling average compiled by FiveThirtyEight shows technical ties within the margin of error between Trump and Harris, so the victory could be decided by very narrow margins or even require recounts to determine who reaches the 270 electoral votes needed.
With the polls in a technical tie in all seven key states, everything is open. The voting over the next two days and the final hours of campaigning could be crucial. Now more than ever, the phrase “every vote counts” takes on greater meaning.
