On radio and TV media, Bou habib said that “the Lebanese Republic’s rejection of targeting civilians anywhere in the world, whether in the Gaza Strip, Lebanon or Israel, and its condemnation of any party that targets civilians.”

Despite the fact that Hezbollah has denied it, Israel accuses the group of allegedly launching a rocket ‘Falaq 1’ which yesterday hit a football field in the Druze city, killed 12 children and teenagers who were there, and injured about 30 people.

“The hypothesis that Hezbollah carried out the attack on the village of Majdal Shams in the occupied Golan Heights, because since the beginning of the conflict in the south, Hezbollah has not targeted civilian sites, but only military sites,” the Lebanese minister ruled out.

Boub Habib expected that the Majdal Shams attack was carried out by other organizations, an Israeli mistake, or an error on part of Hezbollah, calling for an international investigation or a meeting of the tripartite committee through UNIFIL to uncover the truth.

In addition, the official called for “full and comprehensive implementation of Resolution 1701 (2006) from both sides,” stressing that “a major attack by Israel on Lebanon will lead to a deterioration of the situation in the region and the outbreak of a regional war.”

On the other hand, Egypt called on “influential forces” of the international community to intervene “immediately” to prevent the expansion of the Israel-Hezbollah conflict and the regional war in the Middle East.
