Lebanon: Israeli Attack Destroys Civilian Buildings in Beirut

The Iranian agency Tasnim denies the death of a Lebanese high commander of Hezbollah. Fuad Shekar (Hajj Mohsen), who was the main target of the Zionists, did not die.
An Israeli attack on Tuesday night (Lebanese local time) targeted a residential building in the southern suburb of Beirut, where Hizbullah’s number two was supposedly located, by destroying a substantial section of the structure.

At least one woman was killed and several others were injured, some of them critically ill, by Israel’s attack on Tuesday against the southern suburbs of Beirut known as the Dahye.
The attack comes after continued threats by Israeli occupation officials of substantial aggression against Lebanon since Saturday.
The target Hezbollah commander of the Israeli airstrike is Fuad Shukr, also known as Haj Mohsin, a senior advisor to the group’s secretary general, Hasan Nasralá.
Al Jazeera, citing a Lebanese medical source, confirms that there are injuries as a result of the attack. The IDF said that the operation was directed against a commander who is accused of being «responsible for the killing of children in Majdal Shams».

The Israeli army is on high alert. Quoting an Israeli official, he identified the target in Beirut as Fuad Shukr, allegedly responsible for all Hizbollah military operations.
According to the Lebanese National News Agency (ANN), «several wounded were transferred» to at least three hospitals in the Lebanese capital, and ambulances and fire trucks have been heading for the Haret Hreika area.
The action was carried out with an unmanned aircraft that fired three rockets at the building called Al Rabiaa, «which was the target of the hostile bombing in the vicinity of the Bahman Hospital»according to the source.
This building, according to the ANN, «collapsed», without any further details being known about what the objectives of this Israeli action were. The US State Department. reiterated its «unwavering support» for Israel’s security in the face of what they call «threats backed by Iran, including those of Hezbollah».
However, they also expressed their conviction that an escalation can be avoided and that diplomatic solutions are still being sought. A senior Israeli official mentioned on Channel 13 that if Hezbollah does not retaliate, Israel will not escalate the situation into war.
This action marks a significant escalation in regional tensions, generating concern over a possible expansion of the conflict in the Middle East.
