Lebanon: Israeli Attack in the South Leaves Two Dead and Several Wounded

Tensions between Hizbollah and Israel have worsened since the assassination of the high-ranking military commander of the resistance group, Fuad Shukr, attributed to Tel Aviv.

An Israeli drone strike killed two Lebanese in southern Lebanon, amid rising tensions between the country’s resistance group, Hezbollah, and Israel.

According to the Emergency Operations Centre of the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, the Israeli incursion, which also left several wounded, took place in the vicinity of the cemetery in the village of Mays al-Jabal.

According to local media, one of the martyrs was a paramedic from the Association of Explorers for the Islamic Message.

 The tensions between Hizbollah and Israel have worsened since the assassination of the high military commander of Hizbullah, Al-Muzayin, attributed to Tel Aviv, Fuad Shukr, in an air strike on a southern suburb of Beirut on 30 July.

The next day, in Tehran, the Iranian capital, the political leader of the Palestinian resistance group Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, was also assassinated.

Since the beginning of the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip, on 7 October last, both sides have carried out attacks with deaths, Most of the civilian casualties are recorded on Lebanese territory.

The hostilities have also led to more than 150,000 people on both sides of the border having to leave their homes for temporary shelter.
