Lebanon: The Death Toll from Israel’s Genocidal Attacks Rises to 492

Lebanese authorities reported on Monday afternoon that 492 people were killed by Israel’s attacks against the country, and warned that they could continue to rise.

In this connection, the Emergency Operations Centre of the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that 1,246 people were injured following explosions of electronic devices, including pagers and walkie-talkies.

“As a result of the attacks, 492 people were killed, including 24 children and 42 women, and 1,246 people were injured,” he said.

It also heavily shelled the town of Zibqine, as well as some houses in the Al-Khiam valley. Israel launched more than 80 air strikes in the Bekaa valley in just half an hour.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health added that 13 civilians were slightly injured following attacks on the villages of Al-Malikiyah and Jbal Al-Butm, and in areas near the Tyre district. According to local media, tensions between Lebanon and Israel escalated after the Israeli army attacked a residential building in the Haret Hreik neighbourhood of southern Beirut on 30 July, destroying it completely.

The Sputnik platform reported that on 20 September, the Israeli army launched a ‘selective attack’ against the southern outskirts of Beirut in which Ibrahim Aqil and 15 other Hizbollah militants, including members of the chain of command of the Radwan Force, were eliminated.

On the other hand, so-called pager attacks began on 17 and 18 September in different parts of Lebanon when Israel blew up thousands of them and killed and wounded many people.

In this regard, Monday the Lebanese Interim Minister of Health, Firas Abiad said that about 5,000 people in Lebanon were affected by Israel’s air strikes against this Arab country in less than a week.
