“Jesus Christ is born! Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Mary and Joseph, who was born in historic Palestine to bring us the good news of freedom and happiness to the people,” he said.
“The best gift we could have received, embraced as a family, surrounded by the joy of our sons, daughters, grandsons, and granddaughters, and with our faith renewed because we have his blessing and protection. Let nothing and no one take away our right to celebrate in peace!” Maduro emphasized.
Vice President Delcy Rodriguez confirmed that the Venezuelan government distributed 14 million toys nationwide as part of the “Happy Christmas 2024” plan.
“We close this 2024 with a positive balance and the hope of a better future. In national unity, let us celebrate this Christmas in peace and harmony, embraced as a family!” she said.
Previously, on Monday, Rodriguez highlighted that despite the hardships caused by the U.S. blockade against the Venezuelan people, President Maduro had managed to bring a smile to the country’s children through the distribution of gifts.
In Venezuela, Christmas festivities actually began on October 1 after the Bolivarian leader decreed the “advancement” of the holiday season. To this end, national and local authorities started decorating various public spaces with lights and traditional Christmas imagery.
