Ecuador is living under a dictatorship and experiencing the most grotesque fraud in its history, she denounced.

On Wednesday, former presidential candidate for the Citizen Revolution, Luisa Gonzalez, once again insisted on denouncing irregularities during the runoff of the presidential elections held on April 13.

“We demand that the National Electoral Council (CNE) immediately publish all properly signed voting records and hold a public audit hearing of the electoral register for all the contested records,” she said in a video posted on the social media platform X.

On Sunday night, Gonzalez refused to accept the results that gave President Daniel Noboa re-election with more than one million votes of difference. She denounced that Ecuador was “living under a dictatorship and experiencing the most grotesque fraud in its history,” for which the leftist lawyer demanded a vote recount and for “the ballot boxes to be opened.”

“There are multiple versions of records that were modified by the CNE itself after being uploaded into the system, altering not only the chain of custody but also the final result,” Gonzalez said, warning that there was evidence of an artificial decrease in voter absenteeism.

The text reads, “To the country, for the truth, for unity, for democracy, for the justice of a people crying out for better days.” Luisa Gonzalez.

“In other words, there were more votes than voters… We have 1,984 voting records without a responsible signature. This violates Article 127 of the Democracy Code and they should be invalidated. There are 1,526 records where the totals do not match the number of voters, which would also render them null and void,” she added.

“There are 1,582 records whose results deviate substantially from the average of their respective precinct and gender category, which indicates possible additional record entries in those vote-receiving boards. There was an unusual decrease in blank votes, which raises doubts about the possible direct manipulation of more than 150,000 ballots,” Gonzalez denounced.

“These findings will be challenged and appealed before all appropriate legal instances and before the competent authorities, which today, unfortunately, are under the control of those in power.”

The text reads, “Petro promises to grant asylum to persecuted opponents. The Colombian president announced that Colombia will offer asylum to Ecuadorian opponents allegedly persecuted after the reelection of Daniel Noboa, including Luisa González and Vice President Verónica Abad. Petro denounced a “blacklist” of persecuted individuals and the detention of Colombian observers. The election has also been questioned by leaders such as Claudia Sheinbaum and Nicolas Maduro, and the OAS pointed out irregularities in the process.”

The Citizen Revolution leader also said that the electoral campaign had been “plagued with irregularities” that began with President Noboa campaigning without taking a leave of absence from office, and continued with “the takeover of electoral institutions, which illegally allowed the indiscriminate use of public resources for an open campaign by the incumbent government.”

“Million-dollar bonuses were also handed out without technical analysis as a populist strategy to buy votes, which today puts dollarization at risk. There were even last-minute changes to voting locations and states of emergency,” she added.

Gonzalez asserted that there is political persecution against those who have “had the courage to raise their voices” by those who “today count more than one million votes scandalously stolen in an unfair, unequal election like none ever seen before in our history.”
