The far-right leader and her fascist groups recruited minors to perpetrate post-election violence.

On Monday, Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello accused far-right opposition leader Maria Corina Machado of being responsible for the attack on the national electric system that occurred on Friday.

“The fascist faction led by Mrs. Maria Corina Machado is directly responsible for these attacks, as well as everyone around her,” he said, describing their actions as “fascist politics.”

“They repeat the same script with actions like these, believing they only harm the Chavistas, but they end up attacking their own people as well,” he added and took the opportunity to praise the workers of the National Electric Corporation for their quick response in restoring the electric service after the attack.

Additionally, the Venezuelan Minister accused Machado of recruiting minors to participate in violent actions, announcing that investigations into the recently released adolescents would continue.

“There are minors who have traces of gunpowder on their hands. There are also deceased individuals at the site where a young man was detained. An investigation is being carried out. We do not persecute or kidnap anyone,” he added, explaining that some minors were released under precautionary measures.

The text reads, “Far-right group attacks a person for being a ‘Chavista.’ The destabilizing plan denounced by President Nicolas Maduro is underway. They are targeted and the authorities maintain control.

“The parents are responsible for their children’s actions… What do many parents say? They claim they didn’t know and that their children were secretly contacted. Who did it? Maria Corina Machado’s fascists. It is the same far-right that recruited children in 2017 to participate in urban violent actions and then blamed the government for their detention,” Cabello said.

“Machado is a fascist. She is a child murderer who leads them to their deaths. She doesn’t care about anything while her children are living like royalty in the United States,” the Interior Minister recalled, contrasting these accusations with the actions of the Venezuelan government.

“We have nothing to hide… We want all Venezuelan children to be able to attend school, and what we have been doing is to guarantee education for all… For us, boys and girls are untouchable. We love them with all our hearts, and we are here to ensure they have a country without hatred.”

Cabello also confirmed the release of 86 out of over 100 minors detained in the riots following the presidential elections on July 28. The released youths are between 14 and 17 years old, with seventy-four of them being boys and 12 being girls.
