During the closing of the World Forum on the Development of Special Economic Zones (SEZ), Venezuela’s President, Nicolás Maduro, called for the construction of a new humanity centered on peace, respect, and independence.

In his speech, he stressed that humanity in the 21st century yearns for a future where international law prevails, criticizing the UN’s inaction on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, which he described as “cowardly silence and complicity.” Maduro raised the question of what future we want, stating that the collective desire is one of freedom and independence.

“We have the right to our future, and no one will take it away from us,” he emphasized, noting that the vast majority of the Venezuelan people are committed to building their own model.

The President also directed his message to youth, women, and peasants, assuring them that his government is on the “right side of history.” He stressed the importance of fostering a new modernity and civilization based on values of peace and respect.

To achieve this, he urged the promotion of cultural, educational, and scientific independence, mentioning the recent inauguration of the Dr. Humberto Fernández Morán University of Sciences as a significant step in this direction.

Additionally, Maduro warned about the control that artificial intelligence can exert on global political and financial influences, underlining the need for a collective consciousness among peoples.
