Mexican President Highlights His Government’s Economic and Wellness Achievements

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, in his last official government report on Sunday at the Zocalo in Mexico City, pointed out the achievements that his government has made over the past six years.

About the healthcare politics carried out by his government, he highlighted in 23 states of the country, the universal and free health system known as IMSS Wellness is already the most effective in the world, “I said it was going to be like Denmark. No, it’s not like Denmark, it’s better than Denmark,” said the president.
In his presentation, he highlighted that in public health the IMSS Welfare already has almost 12,000 medical units to care for people who were excluded from the system.
“Take into account that there are just under 2,500 municipalities, and no more than 11,935 health centres. (There) 669 hospitals, 42,322 general practitioners, 126,762 nurses and 30,346 specialists”, he said.
Also, Lopez Obrador highlighted the creation of the ‘Megafarmacia’, 90,000 square meters, in the State of Mexico to supply medicines to patients who have reported shortages of drugs in public health.
“Before the purchase of medicine and medical equipment was a dirty business of influence traffickers and corrupt politicians, even communicators, information mercenaries, today with the same budget free medicines are given to all Mexicans without social security.” expressed.
AMLO also stated that the Mexican economy grew at an average of 1% per year in its six-year period (2018-2024), which now ranks 12th in the world from site 15 previously.
