According to official information, a total of 305 districts have been included in the risk scenario developed by the National Center for Disaster Risk Estimation, Prevention, and Reduction (Cenepred) following a weather warning from the National Service of Meteorology and Hydrology of Peru (Senamhi).

The document indicated that the southern department of Apurímac has the highest number of districts at very high risk, with 41 jurisdictions; followed by Ayacucho, with 33; Cusco, with 26; Arequipa, with 13; Puno, with 8; Lima, with 2; Moquegua, with 1; and Tacna, with 1.

In addition, another 180 districts in these same regions are at high risk of being affected by the rainfall.

In light of this situation, Indeci urged local and regional authorities to review evacuation routes, as well as the operational availability of health centers, fire departments, and police stations in their jurisdictions.

It also recommended that the population protect the roofs of their homes and establish an early warning system in coordination with local authorities.
