Volcano Erupts in Costa Rica

IN PICTURES: The Turrialba volcano threw a plume of smoke and ash 4,000 meters into the sky.

Costa Rica's massive Turriabla volcano erupted twice, spewing incandescent rocks, ash high into the night sky.

Two major airports were temporarily closed due to the ash. The volcano is located just 35 kilometers from the capital of San Jose.
