National Assembly’s president (AN) Jorge Rodriguez, signed this Sunday a communication that reiterates the invitation to the president of the Republic, the re-elected Nicolás Maduro, for his swearing in on January 10, To be installed before the Members of Parliament for the period 2025-2031.

The swearing-in ceremony, to be held at the Federal Legislative Palace, seat of the National Assembly, will mark the beginning of the new six-year presidential term. Rodríguez assured that the event will symbolize institutional continuity and the popular will expressed in the polls.
Rodríguez formalized the call by means of an official communication that establishes the ceremony for 12 noon, complying with the provisions of article 231 of the Venezuelan Constitution.
The president of the National Assembly emphasized the legitimacy of the electoral process on July 28, 2024, noting that the results were validated by both the National Electoral Council (CNE) and the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ). ” The CNE is the only body capable of and able to proclaim popular election posts in Venezuela”, said Rodríguez.
Rodriguez defended national sovereignty and criticized those who question the legitimacy of the electoral process. ” Attempts to undermine the foundations of peace in the Republic will not succeed”, he declared, rejecting what he described as “manipulations” aimed at destabilizing Venezuelan institutions.
The legislative chief highlighted the popular support for President Maduro, noting that “millions of Venezuelans” support the current government. He also emphasized the country’s commitment to its independence and sovereignty, describing these values as part of the “immortal DNA of Venezuelan society”.
