NAM and Group of 77 Demand the Exclusion of Cuba From the List of Terrorism Sponsors Countries

According to a statement released by the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and the Group of 77 and China, through their Joint Coordinating Committee, demanded “the immediate exclusion of Cuba from the unilateral list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism.”

In the statement from the NAM and the G77 and China, the organizations that the inclusion of Cuba in that list it is an “unjust and unfounded accusation serves as a pretext for imposing additional unilateral coercive measures against Cuba , and has strengthened to unprecedent levels the economic, commercial and financial blockade against the Cuban people.”
Also, the Joint Coordinating Committee reiterates its call to the US government to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed “on that sisterly nation for more than six decades that constitutes the major impediment for its full development.”
The Committee highlight its rejection to the imposition of laws and regulations with extraterritorial impact and all other forms of coercive measures, including unilateral sanctions, against developing countries “and reiterates the urgent need to eliminate them immediately.”
Both organizations also urges a strict compliance with the 31 resolutions adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on the “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba”.
The Group of 77 and China is made up of 134 States of the international community, while the Non-Aligned Movement brings together 121 member States and 18 Observers.
