Pelosi, 84, is in the process of recovery after being hospitalised after a fall that caused her to break her hip while she was in Luxembourg commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Ardennes.
New York Times quoted anonymous sources and said Pelosi stumbled down the marble stairs of the Grand Ducal palace in Luxembourg’s capital and suffered a heavy fall in which he broke her hip.
Pelosi’s spokesperson, Krager, noted his gratitude for the support received and reaffirmed his commitment to access quality health care for all Americans.
He said she suffered an “injury” while participating in an official meeting of a delegation from the Congress who traveled to the European country and “was hospitalized for evaluation,” Krager explained yesterday without giving further details about the type of injury.
The Democratic congresswoman “is being treated excellently by doctors and medical professionals,” the spokesman added, noting that Pelosi “regrets not being able to attend” all of the other official events he had scheduled.
In yesterday’s statement, Krager also expressed Pelosi’s “thanks” to the American veterans as well as the people of Luxembourg and the Belgian town of Bastoña for their role in World War II.
