Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting on Tuesday in Moscow.

Russian President also decorated India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, with the Order of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First Call, for his «exceptional merits in the development of the particularly privileged association» between the two countries.
«I thank you for the attempts to find solutions to the Ukrainian crisis, first of all by peaceful means», Putin told Modi at the beginning of a meeting between the two in the Kremlin.
Putin detailed that trade between Moscow and New Delhi grew 66% last year and 20% in the first quarter of this year. India and Russia «collaborate closely in the world arena, even in international organizations», said Putin.
«I thank you for the attention you are paying to the most acute problems, including the attempt to find ways to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, of course, first and foremost by peaceful means», he said.
During his speech, Putin invited Modi to participate in the summit of the Brics group that will take place in the Russian city of Kazan from 22 to 24 October this year.
