At least eight people have lost their lives and another 14 have been injured in an airstrike carried out by Israel in the town of Ain Yacoub, located in the far north of Lebanon, just 12 kilometers from the border with Syria. This attack, which occurred in an area where Israeli bombings are infrequent, has generated significant shock in the region.

The Emergency Operations Center of the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health confirmed the number of casualties in a brief statement: “The attack by the Israeli enemy in Ain Yacoub-Akkar resulted in an initial toll of eight martyrs and fourteen wounded.”

The Lebanese National News Agency (ANN) reported that the target of the attack was a home in this town, which has taken in many displaced individuals fleeing violence from other parts of the country.
