WikiLeaks is seen as a threat to Clinton since the organization hacked 20,000 emails from the Democratic National Convention staff.

As he prepares to release a new cache of leaked documents that he says provide a damning indictment of Hillary Clinton, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange said Wednesday that he's not meddling in the U.S. presidential election to boost the electoral chances of Republican nominee Donald Trump.

In an Facebook Live interview with The New York Times, the journalist also accused the U.S. press of supporting Hillary Clinton, and dismissed the accusations made by some of her supporters who said he is somehow in league with Russia against the Democratic candidate.

"The American liberal press, in falling over themselves to defend Hillary Clinton, are erecting a demon that is going to put nooses around everyone's necks as soon as she wins the election, which is almost certainly what she's going to do," Assange said.

WikiLeaks is seen as a threat to Clinton since the organization hacked 20,000 emails from Democratic National Convention staff, leading to the forced resignation of Deborah Wasserman-Schultz on the eve of the Democrat convention.

Assange recently said that the most “shocking” information he has learned about Clinton is yet to be revealed and confirmed that “interesting and retaining material” is coming soon; he did not, however, say when.

The WikiLeaks founder has been holed up in the Ecuadorean Embassy in London since June 2012 when he secured political asylum from Quito to block potential extradition to the United States.
