At least six people were stabbed during a sexual diversity parade in the Israeli capital, Jerusalem, Thursday. According to the Jerusalem Post, there were no fatalities, but two of the stabbing victims have sustained serious injuries.
The suspected attacker, Yishai Schlissel, has been arrested. Police say the suspect is apparently an ultra-Orthodox Haredi Jew — a sect that rejects modern secular culture — who the BBC report had carried out a similar attack at a gay pride parade 10 years ago, stabbing four.
Schlissel was sentenced to 12 years in prison for that attack and was released from prison three weeks ago, the BBC added.
