Mexican forward Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez has found a team that values him and has immediately put him on their starting lineup, but after scoring his first goal for his new Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen in Champions League play, this Sunday he failed to scored despite playing the full 90 minutes.
Of course, his team faced top Budensliga team Borussia Dortmund, whose defense left the Mexican striker without a chance to score.

However, Chicharito had two clear opportunities for goal. At minute 51, he was left alone against the goalie, but was pushed by Marcel Schmelzer in the penalty zone, but a foul was not called. He also had another clear shot, but missed entirely.

Think Ferretti will opt for Chicharito/Jimenez based on what he saw v Argentina. Depends partly on form though. https://t.co/ilNnr4MmWd

Another factor was that Borussia was playing at home and over 80,000 spectators made the stadium roar as their team scored once and once again.
The local club won 3-0 in game belonging to the fifth round of the Bundesliga.
Borrussia Dortmund's goal were scored by Jonas Hofmann (19’), Japanese player Shinji Kagawa (58’) and Pierre Aubameyang (74’ by way of penalty).
The Dortmund has yet to be defeated this season and is battling for first place against its rival Bayern Munich.
The Dortmund club began by attacking as soon as they hit the pitch, while the Leverkusen attempted to undermine its opponents offensive and also reacted by going forward, but Chicharito was erratic at times crossing his shots too far.
2. Chicharito has to work on his accuracy, today he had that early chance to tie up the game, 1-1, and he didn’t capitalize it.

Chicharito and his new team fell to 13th place with only six points.
When playing for Manchester United, the 27-year-old Mexican forward scored 37 premier goals despite mainly featuring as a substitute.
According to the news website Elite Sports New York, Chicharito scored many crucial goals, including match winners over teams such as Chelsea and Aston Villa.
“Chicharito brought pace and a will to win that is matched by few in today’s game,” the news outlet said. “The new Leverkusen striker deserves to be at the forefront of their attack and he should be seen as one of the best forwards in the German Bundesliga.”
