The decline in the global economy brought about by the currently low price of oil has been having a devastating effect on Colombian workers and their familes.

Hundreds of workers from the Colombian Oil Institute have already been laid off. This figure includes geologists, technicians, chemical engineers and more!

Surprisingly, the company has continued to profit exponentially.

“In 2013, this same company generated around 480 million dollars in revenues for ECOPETROL,” says Oil Workers Union representative, Cesar Loza.
