China is one of the candidate countries along with Norway and Kazakhstan.
International martial arts star, Jackie Chan, has joined numerous artists in a recording of the track, “Wake Up Winter”.
The song will be used to promote China’s campaign for the 2022 Winter Olympics.
According to songwriter, Wang Jiuping, “Wake up Winter” is a call to people around the globe to embrace the the Olympic spirit and a longing for friendship between people and countries.
On 7 July, 2014, the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach announced Oslo (Norway), Almaty (Kazakhstan) and Beijing (People’s Republic of China) as Candidate Cities for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
This announcement marked the culmination of Phase One of a two-phase bid process.
