US Latinos tell teleSUR: Immigration Not Only Election Issue that Interests Us

Immigration is not the only issue that Latinos in the United States are concerned about, several Latin American residents in Washington, D.C. told teleSUR’s correspondent Bianca Perez Thursday ahead of the Nevada Democratic caucus.

Perez asked Latinos to list the main issues they are interested in, as candidates try to woo the Latino vote.

“What we want is to have a president who supports us Latinas and betters our quality of life,” Carolina, an immigrant from El Salvador, told teleSUR.

Some of them will talk about immigration, but I think after their campaigns they forget about us immigrants and focus on other political issues that do not include us,” Alicia Siguense, a Latina immigrant from Guatemala.
