In December, the Spanish coach announced that he would be leaving Bayern Munich after this season.
"Out of respect for Manuel Pellegrini and the players, the Club wishes to make its decision public to remove the unnecessary burden of speculation," the Manchester City said.
The former Barcelona coach Guardiola, who is known by many as the most stylish man in football, has won 64 of his 99 Premier League games as a manager.
