The protests seek to build on those held in late 2014.

About 3,000 protesters marched again in Hong Kong streets Sunday. The protests are the largest since key roads of the city were blocked for over two months and cleared last year.

The Occupy Central movement organized those protests but this time the organizers said that this time they would not occupy any sites and would march peacefully with yellow umbrellas, reported Reuters.

"We want to make it clear to the government that ... we want true universal suffrage," said Daisy Chan, one of the organizers.

Hong Kong authorities deployed about 2,000 policemen

The protestors were demanding the establishment of a full democratic system, something that Hong Kong, a British colony for over 100 years until 1997, has never had.
