The president of the National Constituent Assembly of Venezuela (ACN by its acronym in Spanish) stated on Wednesday that Venezuelan authorities arrested a relative of the self-proclaimed 'president' of the Bolivarian Republic, Juan Guaido, as he carried “explosive substances” on an airplane that returned him to the South American country.

Airline Workers Confront Juan Guaido Over New Sanctions

“A man who confirms he is Juan Guaido's uncle was arrested because he brought very dangerous materials inside a plane, violating the civil aeronautics norms. First, he was on the flight with a bulletproof vest and that is forbidden. On whose behalf are those bulletproof vests, on the bill says JJ Rendón. He did not declare that and was wearing it”, Cabello announced on the show “Con el Mazo Dando”, broadcasted by state channel VTV.

The functionary specified that Guaido's relative not only carried the aforementioned undeclared bulletproof vest but also “tactile lanterns” with “explosive chemical substances” inside, presumably C-4.

Cabello also commented that Guaido's uncle had evidence of “telephonic contact with a functionary of the United States Secret Services, named Charles”. He also said that on the passenger´s list of TAP Portugal's airline was the unregistered name of the opposite deputy: “There was no Juan Gerardo Guaido Márquez. The airline owners believe we are fools”.

Cabello also pointed out that remote control with a hidden pendrive was seized from Márquez. In that device was a document in English about some operations against Venezuela”.

The ACN president emphasized that the content of that document cannot be revealed “for safety reasons” but said that his government will act “against whoever” to guarantee the country´s peace.
