The Government of Nicaragua has expressed its sincere congratulations to the president-elect of the Republic of Mozambique, Daniel Francisco Chapo, who will take office on January 15.

Through a statement signed by President Daniel Ortega and Vice-President Rosario Murillo, the Nicaraguan executive expressed its wish for success in this new stage of leadership.

In the message, Nicaragua highlighted the historical ties that unite both nations, underlining a shared history of struggles and victories for life, welfare, justice, and peace. “As free peoples, we are united by a common history,” the statement said, emphasizing the defense of independence and national sovereignty as fundamental pillars in the bilateral relationship.
