The Government of Nicaragua sent a message of solidarity to the people of Venezuela on Tuesday in response to the actions taken by the United States (USA) against the South American country, specifically regarding the proposal of Law HR 825, known in a derogatory manner as the Bolivar Law.

In a statement signed by President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo, it is stated that “in the face of the new infamy of the imperialists” and the “daring to touch Bolivar,” the peoples who know and condemn these actions declare that “Standing Watch” is the word.

“We fight together for our inalienable rights: sovereignty, respect, and recognition of our full independence,” the statement emphasizes. Nicaragua also repudiates the “agonizing torments” of US imperialism and quotes words by Augusto César Sandino from the San Albino Manifesto, where firm resistance against the invaders is expressed.

Sandino states that even if the last soldier in Nicaragua dies, many enemies will fall due to his bravery.

On the same day, the National Assembly of Venezuela bluntly rejected US Law HR 825, promoted by Mike Waltz, future security advisor to president-elect Donald Trump.

Additionally, the US Government recognized former opposition candidate Edmundo González as the elected president of Venezuela after the July 28 elections, an act considered provocative by the Bolivarian government led by Nicolás Maduro, who won 51.20% of the vote against 44.2% for González.

Maduro’s victory was ratified by the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice after relevant investigations.
