“Imperial, colonial and neo-colonial aggression only shows the impotence and rage of decaying and decrepit empires since they have morally lost all battles against a world that is neither submissive nor dependent but aguerridly, courageous and determined to transform the outdated systems and create a new multipolar order”, said the Sandinista executive in a statement.

In the statement, signed by Nicaragua’s president, Daniel Ortega, and his wife and vice president, Rosario Murillo, entitled ‘Venezuela, worthy and brave!’, the Nicaraguan government said that “rejects and condemns the continuous attacks that are launched against our peoples and Governments in a form of unworthy and punitive domination at a time which we recognize as a luminous battle for our dignity, sovereignty and rights”.

“Our people, the families of Nicaragua, extend our hearts of solidarity to the glorious people of Bolivar, Chávez, Nicolás, and that great Bolivarian community, united in ideals, values, struggles and horizons of peace and well-being,” he added.

For Ortega and Murillo, the new US sanctions is “another aggression”, this represents “more fights, more victories, more honor and more glory for that heroic Venezuela, and for all of us who know that power belongs to the people and that we have to defend it every day with the strength and the strength of our great spirits”.
