Nicaraguan Government Congratulates India on 75th Anniversary of its Constitution

The Government of Reconciliation and National Unity of the Republic of Nicaragua has extended its warmest congratulations to the President and Prime Minister of India, Droupadi Murmu and Narendra Modi, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India, which took effect following the country’s independence from British rule.

“We are pleased to express on behalf of the People and Government of Reconciliation and National Unity of the Republic of Nicaragua, and in our own name, our warmest congratulations to you, your Government and the noble people of the Republic of India,” the letter reads.

In a letter addressed to the Indian leaders, Nicaragua expressed pride in celebrating this significant milestone, set for January 26. The Nicaraguan government reiterated its commitment to strengthening the bonds of cooperation, friendship, and solidarity between the peoples and governments of both nations.

The letter concluded with heartfelt sentiments and respect from the Nicaraguan people to their Indian counterparts, emphasizing the ongoing friendship between the two countries.

As Nicaragua joins in this celebration, it looks forward to enhancing its relationship with India in the spirit of unity and mutual respect.

The Constitution of India was adopted on 26 November 1949 and entered into force on 26 January 1950. This day is celebrated as the Republic Day in India.

One of the key principles is sovereignty, which recognizes India as a country with its own authority, free from external powers, seeks to promote equality and social justice by eliminating economic and social inequalities and defends secularism,to guarantee freedom of religion and ensure the separation between the State and religions, respecting all beliefs.
