The head of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Muayyad Shaaban, criticised the proposed extension of the colonial regime and the eviction of the population from the West Bank.
Israel confiscated 5,200 hectares of land in the occupied West Bank since the beginning of October 2023, as well as demolishing the infrastructure of the Strip and displacing people against their will, as well as the development of Israeli Army settlements and control sites.
Shaaban reported that in the first six months of 2024, troops and settlers from Israel made 7,681 violations in the West Bank.
The Central Bureau of Statistics reported that in March this year, Israel seized 50,526 dunams of Palestinian land (just over five thousand hectares), almost double the previous year’s figure.
Previously, the country issued 32 orders for the confiscation of some 619 dunams, four orders for the expropriation of similar 433 dunams and two orders for the declaration of State land for some 515 dunams.
