Palestinian resistance fighters engaged in a fierce battle with Israeli soldiers near Tayasir, east of Tubas, resulting in two Israeli fatalities and several wounded.
The Israeli military confirmed that eight soldiers were injured, with two in critical condition, during an intense exchange of fire.
The confrontation escalated when Palestinian fighters took positions in a watchtower and opened fire on Israeli forces, triggering a sustained gun battle.
According to Hamas, these actions are a legitimate response to Israeli assaults on hospitals, civilian institutions, and refugee camps in the occupied West Bank.
Meanwhile, Palestinian Islamic Jihad hailed the attack as a symbol of Palestinian determination against Zionist crimes.
The clashes come amid ongoing Israeli military operations in the West Bank, which—under the pretext of fighting resistance—have:
- Destroyed civilian buildings,
- Carried out mass arrests,
- Attacked water sources and hospitals,
- Made life increasingly unlivable for Palestinians, forcing displacement.
Rising Death Toll
The West Bank Ministry of Health reported that 70 Palestinian civilians have been killed so far in 2025, the majority from the Jenin refugee camp, which was violently raided by Israeli forces almost simultaneously with the ceasefire in Gaza.
