Pope Francis, who is reported to be in “stable” condition after three weeks of hospitalization, has shared his first recorded message from Rome’s Policlinico Gemelli hospital. In an audio message released this Thursday, the Holy Father expressed his gratitude to the faithful around the world for the prayers offered for his health since his admission.

Francis said, “I wholeheartedly thank you for the prayers you have been offering for my health from the Square. I accompany you from here. May God bless you, and may the Virgin Mary watch over you. Thank you.” His message was broadcast ahead of the Rosary prayer held every night in St. Peter’s Square in his honor.
