During the military parade, senior army and navy commanders, general and defense minister Luis Cresencio Sandoval and admiral José Rafael Ojeda Durán, expressed their commitment to loyalty to the next president of Mexico. Both military personnel emphasized the crucial role that will be played by the armed institutions under the leadership of the future president.

Both officers also took the opportunity to say goodbye to outgoing president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, thanking him for his leadership and collaboration on key projects.

The military parade for Mexico’s independence on Monday was led by the country’s president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, in Plaza de la Constitución, Mexico’s historic center.

The commander of the Military Police, Enrique Salgado declared at the commemorative parade for the first cry of Independence of 1810 against the Spanish empire that “We have always been institutions close to the people, but thanks to the instruction of the Obrador president, today more than ever, the soldier is seen as an aid”.

Both military commanders thanked President Andrés Manuel López Obrador for allowing them to be part of his project to make history together, while the police chief promised to carry out the orders of his future “supreme commander”, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

For his part, the head of the Defense, who also ends his administration noted that “soldiers, as never before, are ready for actions directed by our next supreme commander as elected president”.

The military deployment included state-of-the-art military weapons, including UH60 helicopters, artillery, Grob G-120 biplace training aircraft and F-250 naval equipment, among others.

The demonstration involves 15,000 elements of the National Guard, the Air Force and Navy, 18 war bands, and 700 ground vehicles and cavalry.

It should be noted that the Morena party remarked that “on the 214th anniversary of the Independence Cry, it is an honor to fight for our country, because as never before, our president López Obrador has put his name on high”.

Meanwhile, the president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, said that Viva Mexico once and a thousand times, dear brother López Obrador.

“His sexennium has been one of justice and support and solidarity with the dispossessed and with the brothers of Our America. From Cuba we share the deep emotion of his last Independence Cry”, he said.
