“Today I presented three brilliant young people who will be part of the cabinet that will take office from October 1: Claudia Curiel de Icaza, Secretary of Culture; Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, Secretary of Tourism; and Marath Baruch Bolaños López, Secretary of Labor and Social Security. I share their profiles,” said the president.

On October 1, his cabinet will take office, of which only the Secretary of Navy and National Defense will remain to be named.

Claudia Curiel de Icaza has a degree in History from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and as a specialty she has studied Education for the Arts. She served as Mexico City’s Secretary of Culture, while also being recognized for her 20 years of experience as a programmer and cultural manager.

When Curiel said that culture is “a tool for transformation,” she said she is convinced that culture is the language of identities, which allows us to understand who we are, where we are, what our time is and what we want to build. No answer to this would be possible without knowing how we got here, without observing those who walked through these lands before us and without hearing all the stories that give us meaning and pride”.

With a degree in Business Administration from the Metropolitan University of Puebla, and a master’s degree in senior management, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora will serve as Secretary of Tourism.

Even with all the challenges that this represents, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora declared that it will “all my commitment, loyalty and creativity to develop tourism for all, where the indigenous peoples, artisans and entire communities of the 32 states are benefited by this noble industry”.

Meanwhile, Marath Baruch Bolaños López will continue as Secretary of Labor and Social Security, a position he has held since June 2022.
