His words are based on the statements of Trump when he said in March that if he is not elected «it will be a bloodbath for the country”.

President of the United States (US), Joseph Biden, said he does not trust a peaceful transfer of government power in the November elections.

«If Trump wins, no, I have no confidence at all. I mean, if Trump loses, I have no confidence at all», said Biden in a testimony he gave to the American channel CBS News, the president’s first exchange with the press after his resignation for re-election.

It is worth remembering that after the act of abandoning the race for re-election, Biden expressed his support to the new candidate and current vice president Kamala Harris, who already has Tim Walz as a running mate.

Referring to Trump, the head of the White House said that “he is serious, we are not serious. Seriously, all that ‘if we lose will be a bloodbath’… [and] ‘stolen elections’, you can’t love your country only when you win”.

Biden’s words are backed by the words of Trump last March, when he said that if he is not elected “it will be a bloodbath. That will be the least of it. It will be a bloodbath for the country”.

“Look what you’re trying to do now, in the local constituencies where people count votes,” because the clip shared on X by CBS of the interview doesn’t show the outcome of the interview, This leaves the question whether the US president is referring to Republicans sending agents to challenge the vote count or intimidating election workers.
