President Maduro Authorizes the Resumption of Dialogue With the United States

Nicolás Maduro also affirmed that all talks must take place in an environment where the sovereignty of the Venezuelan State is respected, without tricks or deceptions.
On Monday, during the program “Con Maduro” the Venezuelan president reported that next Wednesday Venezuela will resume the dialogues with the United States in Doha, Qatar.

“I want to overcome this brutal and sterile conflict with them. I have received the proposal, for two continuous months, to resume direct dialogue with the US government. I have decided that next Wednesday the talks with the United States government are restarted so that the agreements of Qatar are fulfilled, that they are public dialogues and that it is not hidden,” said President Maduro.
The Venezuelan president said that Jorge Rodríguez and Héctor Rodríguez, president of the National Assembly and governor of the state of Miranda, respectively, will form the Venezuelan delegation.
“There will be Jorge Rodriguez and Hector Rodriguez and we will discuss and seek new agreements to be fulfilled what was signed in Qatar,” he said.

The resumption of the round of negotiations is taking place in the context of an intensification of sanctions against Venezuela and after several attempts to undermine sovereignty and carry out acts of interference against the Venezuelan Government.
It should be remembered that on June 19 the US Ambassador to Colombia, Francisco Palmieri, made statements against the Venezuelan State and the government of President Maduro.
To these statements, “fascist and interventionist,” the president replied, “Do you want dialogue? I want dialogue Don’t you want dialogue? I don’t care, what matters is the struggle, the dignity and the future of the people of Venezuela”.
