President Maduro Calls on the Bolivarian Youth to Defend Peace

With banners, slogans and flags, the Venezuelan youth stressed that peace is one of the main guarantees of the Bolivarian Revolution.

Venezuela’s president, Nicolás Maduro, called on Monday the youth of Venezuela to defend peace, during the mobilization of thousands of young people in support of the victory of the head of state in the elections on July 28.

The mobilization included representatives of social movements, entrepreneurs and students who moved from the Andrés Bello High School in the parish of La Candelaria, to the Miraflores Palace, to defend peace and reject any plan of extremist violence.

“I say to the cowardly fascists, you will hide, but the patriotic and revolutionary youth are in the streets and we will never hide. It is time for definitions, that each one define himself, or you love and defend Venezuela or let fascism come”, the president stressed.

Under heavy rain, the young Venezuelans waited for President Nicolás Maduro, who claimed that the country carries the indestructible power of youth and congratulated them for their demonstration of strength and morality. “We must continue to persevere on the path of a free, independent and sovereign homeland,” he said.

He also stressed that the present generation had not seen him, so far, «the criminal face of fascism» and recalled that when the Fourth Republic, On February 27, fascism murdered thousands of young people in the streets of Venezuela.

“My generation knows the criminals that can be the oligarchs and the fascists,” he said, recalling that criminals at different times in history, have tried to destabilize the peace of Venezuela.

The head of state denounced that the cyber attack against the country has as its main source the instant messaging platform WhatsApp, through which threats are being made against military, police, street and community leaders.

Therefore, he suggested that WhatsApp be replaced by other instant messaging platforms such as Telegram or WeChat.

With banners, slogans and flags, the Venezuelan youth stressed that peace is one of the main guarantees of the Bolivarian Revolution, and rejected the measures imposed by the United States government, five years after the Venezuelan currency blockade.

The young people also rejected the measures of the European Union and the interference of several nations in the internal affairs of the Venezuelans.
