The Venezuelan head of state Nicolas Maduro sent to his Nicaraguan counterpart “fraternal greeting and join the commemoration of the 203rd anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, and the 168th anniversary of the Battle of San Jacinto.”

Maduro stated that both events “They bear witness to the courage, anti-imperialist spirit and vocation of freedom and sovereignty that has defined the Nicaraguan people throughout their glorious history of emancipatory struggle.”

In this regard, the Venezuelan leader ratified to Ortega his sincere gratitude for the solidarity and love that they have shown towards Venezuela and our Bolivarian Revolution, and for strongly condemning the permanent aggression of US imperialism and its national and international allies.

“Our revolutions, the Bolivarian and the Sandinista, are deeply intertwined in their struggle for social justice and the defense of the dignity of our peoples,” president Maduro stated.

Maduro said that in this regard, the heritage of Venezuelan and Nicaraguan heros, who sacrificed everything for freedom and sovereignty, is the beacon that guides their actual actions and decisions.

“In each challenge we have faced and won, we have found the inspiration to continue fighting, with the anti-imperialist courage shown by Sergeant AndrĂ©s Castro Estrada at the San Jacinto camp, General Benjamin ZeledĂłn in his confrontation with the Yankee sailor and our General of Free Men and Women, Augusto C. Sandino, indomitable and immortal leader of the struggle for the dignity and sovereignty of Nicaragua,” said president Maduro.

The Venezuelan head of state, highlighted that the way Full sovereignty and social justice is a difficult path, but with the unity of both peoples, Nicaragua and Venezuela will continue to advance towards peace and political stability that both countries so much demand.

“Cilia and I bid farewell with the assurance of new victories that will be won by the people of Nicaragua, with the wise guidance of you, Commander Daniel and you, Compañera Rosario, legitimate children of Sandino,” concluded the fraternal letter of President Maduro.
