During a ceremony to pay tribute to Robert Serra and Maria Herrera 10 years after their planting, in the Mountain Barracks, the head of state said that “more than 41,000 human beings have been killed in Gaza and now in Beirut, Lebanon”.

In his speech, the president urged the Venezuelan youth not to be manipulated or hate that prevails on social networks.

“If you ask me, what are the words that characterize the fascists and the far right? I would say: hatred, intolerance, division and violence”, he said.

Maduro called for strengthening the formation of values to confront the forces of the extreme right and stressed that his government’s mission is “to fill with love the Venezuelan youth”.

To achieve these ends, the dignitary proposed creating “a powerful youth and for youth communicational movement that promotes the culture of peace and homeland values”.

He also stressed that his country is moving forward in the construction of a new world and recalled the figure of Robert Serra, a young Venezuelan martyr who was also attacked by fascism.

Today marks 10 years since Álvaro Uribe Vélez, with a group of hitmen sent to assassinate Robert Serra, and ten years later we say: “Robert is in all our struggles and we can say he lives in our hearts, because he was a young man with an immortal spirit,” he said.

The Venezuelan president said that the memory of Robert Serra and his legacy will accompany Venezuela’s struggle for its future.
