During the activation of the Governing Bodies for Integral Defense (ODDI), the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, made strong accusations against the opposition, specifically against María Corina Machado, for their attempts to mobilize mercenary groups to attack demonstrations by the extreme right opposition.

President Maduro reiterated the denunciation made earlier by the Minister of People’s Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, warning about what he considers an “ambush” against the opposition’s own supporters.

“Attention to all those people who are opponents or followers of the extreme right: beware of their schemes. She is a criminal,” emphasized the president.

The president also criticized the opposition for trying to disguise their violent actions with religious speeches. He assured that, despite their efforts to sow hatred and division in the country, they would not achieve their goals due to the awareness and commitment of the Venezuelan people to their homeland.

President Maduro also anticipated that the opposition would intensify its tactics of disinformation and psychological warfare in an attempt to destabilize the country.

 His speech focused on highlighting the strength of the Venezuelan people in what he considers systematic attacks by the far right.
