President Nicolás Maduro has backed recent allegations made by Executive Vice President Delcy Rodriguez regarding the maneuvers of the transnational corporation ExxonMobil, which operates in undelimited waters in favor of the Guyanese government.

During the broadcast of his program “Con Maduro+”, the president revealed that ExxonMobil has been making lobbying payments to pressure the U.S. government to suspend Chevron’s operating license in Venezuela.

The head of state stated that these documents contain sufficient material, evidence, and elements. “The vice president presented just one of the documents we have, which come from a reliable source in the United States,” he revealed.

President Maduro asserted that Chevron has been the victim of a “Machiavellian oil lobby” by ExxonMobil, which seeks to destroy its investments in the country. “ExxonMobil is at the center of a vengeful operation against Venezuela and a persecution campaign against Chevron,” the president declared.

The president recalled that Chevron has over a century of operations in Venezuela and has demonstrated its interest in investing in the country, complying with the laws and the Bolivarian Constitution.

President Maduro concluded his remarks by emphasizing the importance of the allegations made by Rodríguez, urging the people of the United States, Venezuela, and the world to recognize who the real enemies are. “ExxonMobil is an enemy of Venezuela’s history and the people’s right to a better future,” he stated.
