In a recent statement, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro Moros lashed out at the Venezuelan far-right and its alleged connection to a network of coyotes that has exploited the country’s migration crisis.
During the broadcast of his program “Con Maduro +”, President Maduro claimed that figures such as David Smolansky, Leopoldo López, Carlos Vecchio, Miguel Pizarro, Carlos Paparoni, Julio Borges, and Juan Guaidó have led this network, which, according to him, has charged exorbitant sums of money from Venezuelans attempting to leave the country in search of better opportunities.
The president highlighted the devastating consequences of this situation, noting that many migrants have fallen victim to scams, kidnappings, and assaults. “This is known by the security agencies of the countries where these crimes were committed,” Maduro stated, demanding justice for the victims of these abuses.
In his speech, President Maduro not only called for justice for those affected but also proposed that the wealth and properties of the financiers behind this coyote mafia be investigated and confiscated. “Justice must be served,” the president emphasized, stressing the need to put an end to practices that have caused so much harm to the Venezuelan people.
