The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, said on Monday that «sanctions increase the anti-imperialist consciousness and the combative morale of the people».

«Sanctions, aggression and threats test countries and peoples. And people have two choices: either submit, let themselves be colonized and ignored, or react and look to the future to do their own thing», said Venezuela’s president, Nicolás Maduro, during his television program «Con Maduro+»

In what he described as an emerging multipolar world, Maduro stressed that the «illegal and immoral» actions of some western governments, far from inspiring fear, have strengthened anti-imperialist consciousness in the country.

The national leader stressed that the sanctions had an immediate reaction by the judiciary, the electoral power, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces and the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry. In addition, he said that these actions reinforce the determination of the country in its fight against imperialism.

He repudiated the “Fascist leader Maria Corina Machado» for again calling for sanctions against Venezuela, and pointed out that she was responsible for all the threats and for the entire psychological campaign there”.

He denounced that the strategy of «maximum pressure», promoted by the United States, is trying to include the component of psychological blackmail from social networks with which they seek to generate zozobra in the nation, its institutions and leaders.

In the face of which he put the successful international day held in Caracas during the World Congress against Fascism, where the Great Anti-Fascist International was founded. «Today we understand better the battle that Latin America and the Caribbean are waging against fascism and neofascism», emphasized Maduro.

In addition, Nicolás Maduro denounced an attempt to destabilize the country, stating that the alleged “tourists” recently arrested had the mission of placing bombs in various points of Venezuela.

“The Spanish media already had a story prepared to cover up this crime,” said the president during his speech.

In this sense, Maduro criticized the reaction of the Spanish media, noting that he came to the conclusion that the detainees were simply tourists a few hours after Diosdado Cabello, Minister of People’s Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, denounce the terrorist plan in a press conference.

“This demonstrates prior coordination to distort reality,” he said.

Likewise, the head of state characterized these terrorist actions and sanctions as an attempt to impose authoritarian control over the country and blamed Machado for the ongoing threats and destabilization campaign.

The Venezuelan president also requested logistical support for the projects approved on 28 August, with the aim of accelerating their development. He also stressed that there is no country in Latin America that resembles the level of constitutional democracy practiced in Venezuela.
