Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro stated on Monday during his program “Con Maduro +” that the country is on high alert and engaged in constant combat against drug trafficking groups and criminals coming from Colombia.

In the 73rd edition of the program, Maduro emphasized that the border with Colombia is patrolled 24 hours a day and that daily efforts are being made to confront criminal groups, including the so-called Tancol, as well as any emerging threats.

“We are in combat against criminal groups, armed terrorists, and drug traffickers from Colombia (Tancol), and anyone else who appears,” said the president, while mentioning the seizure of two small planes and the destruction of a clandestine airstrip in the border state of Apure by the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).

President Maduro recalled that the country shares more than 2,200 kilometers of border with Colombia, which demands a serious and continuous focus on the fight against drug trafficking. “This battle is not new; it was started by Chávez, and we have specialized it with the necessary equipment. We must enhance our techniques,” he stressed.

With these statements, the president reaffirmed his commitment to the fight against organized crime and drug trafficking in the region.
