I President Maduro urged the Venezuelan people to care for the environment as an essential act to preserve human life. “Protecting nature is everyone’s responsibility,” stated the president, reaffirming his commitment to eco-socialist policies.

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, spearheaded the activation of the 6th Transformation (6T): Eco-socialism, Science, and Technology, a strategic plan aimed at promoting environmental protection and sustainable development in the country.

During the event, the Head of State highlighted that Caracas was the birthplace of ecological movements in the 1980s, particularly in the southern area of the capital. He also recalled that Commander Hugo Chávez was the pioneer of eco-socialist movements in 2012, laying the groundwork for a comprehensive vision of the relationship between humans and nature.

In her remarks, the Sectoral Vice President of Science, Technology, Education, and Health, Gabriela Jiménez, emphasized the efforts of the Bolivarian Government in environmental matters.

She highlighted some of the ongoing projects for environmental protection and warned about the consequences of climate change, stressing the need to take urgent actions to mitigate its effects. Jiménez reported that more than 720 projects are currently underway in Venezuela, 40% of which are related to agricultural and environmental areas.

For his part, the Minister for Eco-socialism, Ricardo Molina, underscored the role of popular organizations in the fight to preserve the planet. He noted that there are more than 47,000 popular organizations for life in each communal territory of the country, as well as over 9,000 workers ready to collaborate from the Popular Government offices alongside communal committees.

Molina also detailed some of the ongoing projects for environmental care, including the planting of more than 100 million trees to counteract deforestation in the country.

In his call to action, President Maduro urged the Venezuelan people to care for the environment as an essential act to preserve human life. “Protecting nature is everyone’s responsibility,” stated the president, reaffirming his commitment to eco-socialist policies.

The president of the National Parks Institute (Inparques), Rosa Inés Chávez, also participated in the event, highlighting the ecological thoughts of historical figures such as The Liberator Simón Bolívar and Commander Hugo Chávez.

Chávez detailed some of the strategies being studied for implementation through the Tree Mission, an emblematic program for environmental care in Venezuela.

With this initiative, the Bolivarian Government reaffirms its commitment to environmental protection, the promotion of eco-socialism, and the use of science and technology as key tools to ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.
