In the framework of the commemoration of the Bicentennial of the Battle of Ayacucho, President Nicolas Maduro delivered a powerful speech in which he addressed the current situation in Syria and the perceived threats to the stability of Venezuela.

“In view of the events in Syria, we are observing the development of painful circumstances for the people of Syria,” said the leader while warning about the intentions of “fascist extremists” who want to destabilize Venezuela.

In response to these threats, President Maduro emphasized that the Venezuelan people, in a “perfect fusion” between the popular forces, military, and police, are prepared to defend the peace and stability of the country.

The president called for national unity and reaffirmed his commitment to the Venezuelan Constitution, declaring: “In Venezuela, there will be peace, stability, and national union.” He also evoked the historic Battle of Ayacucho, comparing its significance with the country’s current resistance to external pressures. “If you dared, imperialist lords; if you dared, ladies and gentlemen fascists; it would be the Waterloo of all conspiracies,” he said.

President Maduro concluded his speech with a message of hope and determination, recalling that Venezuelans are “children of Ayacucho” and reiterating their confidence that the country will prevail against any attempt at destabilization. The celebration of the Bicentenary thus becomes a symbol not only of historical independence but also of contemporary resistance by the Venezuelan people.
